What makes a good fight?

"What makes a good fight?" Black Rebel Rifter Club (BRRC) CEO, Miura Bull, asks and attempts to address in his recent blog.

In the blog he states,

"Generally speaking this could be a difficult question to answer, everybody has posted up the obligatory gfgf in local after a battle, each and every one of you has a different opinion on what is a good fight. When posting up the gf in local we don't always mean it in its true form, but to myself and many others it is the obligatory gentlemen's nod, the handshake after the fight. For example every single time I run into one of those annoying as hell insta-locking camps, if I have the chance before I am podded, I will offer up a gf in local."

Yet, when the Royal Order of Security Specialists (ROSS) engages him in battle, they receive anything but a 'gf' in local. ROSS corporate culture is one of extraordinary courtesy after the most arduous battles in both victory and defeat. One is hard pressed not to find it common among ROSS fleets to throw out a 'gf'' in local and we respect those adversaries who do the same. Yet, after the numerous recent engagements ROSS members are still waiting for that 'gf' in local from Miura Bull.

Since a 'gf' in local doesn't seem to be his forté as he would like people to believe, perhaps his strategy is one of true 'gentry'. He continues in his blog,

"Speaking on a personal level, a good fight for me is when the odds are stacked against me and I am outnumbered in the manner that I will get a good fight but not so much that I'm blobbed into oblivion."

However, this is not what seemed to take place in the Auner Star System two days ago when ROSS pilots warped into a mission plex in search of a suspected Amarr wartarget frigate, which was located and destroyed. Miura Bull and his band of rag tag griefers, seven in total, warped in on top of the 2 ROSS pilots and immediately engaged. Amun Khonsu and Bengal Bob, quickly sprung into action to repel the attack against the 3.5 to 1 odds. Miura Bull was the first to go down and quickly reshipped to an anti-frigate destroyer class vessel to return to the fight as Amun Khonsu and Bengal Bob,with their frigate class vessels, skillfully wiped out the blobfest. Miura Bull was left on his own in his thrasher among the debris and subsequently put down.

By the battles end ROSS was down one Jaguar while BRRC had lost nearly its entire fleet, 3 Rifters, 1 Sentinel, 1 Thrasher and 1 Jaguar. One BRRC wolf fled the scene in utter fear after it was nearly destroyed. ROSS is still waiting its 'gf' in local. All of the BRRC involved in the failed gank logged off of the game without the 'obligatory gentlement's nod' spoken of by their CEO.

The questions remain, "When will we get the fair fight that they speak about in their blog?", "How long must we wait for that 'gentlemen's nod' in local from Muira Bull?" Even a better question, "When will they organise and bring that 'fair' fight?" Perhaps, ROSS will be waiting a long time as the BRRC CEO leaves his corpmates to die at the hands of ROSS members while he roams far away in Heild.

So, what is a good fight according to Miura Bull? Obviously, not what he claims it is.

The day's closing report can be viewed:

Battle Report

The server has received a warm welcome by most militia corporations and is hailed as a step toward militia unity and operational necessity.

Already the server has proved beneficial as EVE coms experienced a mass failure on Jan 12, 2011 during critical operations putting militia fleets across the warzone at risk.

Member corporations and NPC corporation militia members are encouraged to join the server. Further information about the server can be requested in-game. In-game server information requests can be sent to Amun Khonsu (ROSS), Amymuffmuff (CTL-Q) or Bigfood (FIA).

ROSS Defeats Underworld Excavator Alliance

In a desperate move to disrupt Minmatar militia operations Core Impulse (CORIM) (an Amarr militia corporation) hired Underworld Excavators Allaince (UE) to declare war on the Royal Order of Security Specialists (ROSS).

The Mercecary alliace comprised of two main corporations, Original Sin and Imperial Tau Syndicate, was paid 1 billion ISK to kill ROSS members on site and prevent them from continuing to engage in their war of freedom from slavery.

Information regarding the hired mercs was leaked in Auga local by Darkside34 (of CORIM) as they initiated the joint operation.

During the joint operation on the first day of the wardec, Underworld Excavators gathered around CORIM's Titan and Titan bridged a 25+ Battleship fleet on Auga's Republic Fleet station, followed by a mixed CORIM fleet, in an effort to camp in their targets and kill anyone who braved undocking. The smacktalk in local from UE was heavy and without reserve. ROSS members continued to watch the World Cup and place wagers on teams while UE smacked and camped for over 3 hours.

Since the initial failed assault on ROSS members, ROSS, with the help of many good friends who offered logistical support, saw opportunity to strike at the heart of the alliance.

The following engagement took place on the Auga stargate in the Kourmonen star system. UE fleet commanders (who also brought neutral fire support inflating their numbers to 10 Battleships total), believed that they were giving chase to a ROSS fleet and attempted an ambush. As they jumped into Kourmonen and engaged the ROSS fleet they found themselves scattered on the gate too far for logi support from their fellow pilots. The ROSS fleet was in position and received logi support from Militia friends as they pounded UE ship one after another. It was later realized that the UE alliance did not fit propulsion on their ships which made them easy prey. UE disengaged and accepted a loss of 3 battleships, 1 interceptor and the pilot's pod. See: Detailed Report - Tuesday 6th July, 2010

UE attempted a number of ambushes subsequent to their defeat in Kourmonen, each to their detriment.

The greatest shocker of the war, however, was when CORIM turned on their hired mercs in a battle that took place at the Auga Republic Fleet station. In CORIM's assault UE lost 2 Battleships and 2 Battlecruisers. Amarr battle report can be at the Amarr Militia Killboard.

Due to the feirce fighting ability of ROSS members and those who assisted, Underworld Excavators has since disbanded their alliance and dropped their wardec against ROSS accepting a resounding defeat and losing all profits they made upon the start of the war.

22 UE ships where destroyed in the war totaling 981,805,053 million ISK. The ROSS final battle report can be viewed on the ROSS Killboard.

"Fail mercs who have no business in low sec.", Amun Khonsu exclaimed in Auga local.

"High security station campers", another exclamied.

Whatever they are, they are not high quality mercenaries and the Amarr must feel scammed. That is why they turned on them and killed them in the end.

"It was good fun. Reminds me if the great Kamela Turkey Shoot", one Minmatar soldier stated on condition of anonymity.

Captain Vaguy, once an unknown figure in the struggle for the freedom of the Minmatar people, has become a leader feared by his enemies and revered by his friends. Now one of the top commanders in the Minmatar militia, Captain Vaguy, regularly menaces and disrupts Amarr and pirate forces and supply lines from the Amamake solar system all of the way to Amarr itself leaving bewilderment and shame among his enemies. Elite commanders and pilots from all races who are committed to the cause of freedom in Minmatar space fly by his side and revel in the glory of victory as they chew through enemy ship hulls from system to system.

In the wake of the carnage, Captain Vaguy, has made one of his finest achievements and certainly one of the finest in the history of the Minmatar Republic militia.

MR Greyy, a Tengu pilot patrolling in the 'safety' of the high security system of Tuomota, believed this to be a day like any other day in high security. Suddenly, his ship sensors lit up with hostile forces and radio frequencies on all channels heard the deafening battlecry of "Wu Tang!" as Minmatar ships conducted another high security raid and pounded his ship into scrap metal and left him for dead. Unknown to him, he marked the 5,000th kill for Captain Vaguy.

Running regular raids into Amarr high security systems has been very successful for the militia as they strike deep at the heart of the Amarr who have yet to come to grips with these invasions.

The Minmatar Republic views this as a sign that freedom from Amarr imperialism and slavery is just on the horizon. "The Amarr are not safe in low security space, they are not safe in their own high security systems, and they are incapable of conducting raids into our systems. The Tengu kill is not only an achievement for one of our top commanders, Captain Vaguy, but shows that the Amarrian forces do not control when, where and how we engage them," said a spokesperson from the Minmatar central government "It is a signal to us and them that the dawn of freedom of the Minmatar people is near."

Captain Vaguy and rebel forces with him rejoiced in their victory and achievement. A communique from the Royal Order of Security Specialists (ROSS) is quoted as stating "We congratulate Captain on achieving his 5,000th kill in the name of the Minmatar Republic and for his dedication and fierce fighting abilities. He is a multiple achievement pilot who deserves an award for his actions."

Captain Vaguy celebrated his achievement at the Republic Fleet pub in Auga. Though invited, top Amarr militia commanders declined to attend the festivities. When told that the Amarr commanders declined his invitation a very happy and intoxicated Captain Vaguy replied "More pints for the rest of us!"

Diplomatic Incident

3 March 2010 - As Royal Order of Security Specialist (ROSS) pilots were routing Maximum Yarrage and Beyond Our Sins corporate wartargets, word reached ROSS that the war had spilled over into the alliance Redneck Rage (RR) due to game mechanics.

The action happened when Beyond Our Sins sought the protection of an alliance in response to the recent ROSS wardec against their corporation. After being contacted by Redneck Rage leadership, it was learned that the acceptance of Beyond Our Sins into the alliance was done without a complete review of the Beyond Our Sins application and thus the war inadvertantly carried over.

ROSS and RR leadership held diplomatic discussions to resolve the issue. One of the possibilities to avoid military confrontation between the alliance and ROSS was to eject Beyond Our Sins from the alliance. However, due to game mechanics, by Beyond Our Sins fleeing to the alliance, the wardeck against Beyond Our Sins was not joined by but replaced by a wardec against RR. It was agreed that the best course of action would be that RR would not eject Beyond Our Sins from the alliance and instead ROSS would drop the wardec against Redneck Rage.

It was detailed to RR leadership what the reasons for the wardec against Beyond Our Sins entailed. The allaince leadership stated to ROSS that they have a "strict no smacktalk policy" in effect. They also stated that if Beyond Our Sins is using the alliance as a temporary means of safehaven and then leave the alliance and resume smacktalk after ROSS has ended hostilities, Redneck Rage would join ROSS in a wardec against the corporation.

ROSS leadership committed to end the wardec against Redneck Rage immediately and sent out a corporate memo instructing their members to honor the 24 hour ceasefire period as a cooling down phase until the wardec has officially ended. The wardec will end roughly 2AM 5-March-2010. The same memo was sent out to all of the alliance members in RR.

The wardec against Beyond Our Sins was successful according to ROSS leadership. In 3 days of the wardec they had recognized the might of the ROSS corporation and sought the protection of an alliance. Their pilots were on the run from ROSS fighters when the dimplomatic incident involving Redneck Rage took place. Beyond Our Sins was contained to the Rens star system while a ROSS operation earlier in the day also claimed a Myrmidon battlecruiser. Beyond Our Sins dropped their wardec against the ROSS industrial corporation. For More information on the Beyond Our Sins wardec, see our press release:

As deep space sensors detect subspace frequencies from the immense explosions of ships across New Eden, Royal order of Security Specialist members rage into battle against their enemies in the corporation's quarterly kill competition. The competition has sparked a fierce competitive spirit among corporation members as they struggle to win a Macherial faction battleship and other prizes.

The competition has also placed intense pressure on enemies of the Minmatar Republic and ROSS. Operations conducted over the last month have indicated a sharp decline in Amarr resistance and skirmishes since the competition's commencement. As a result of this lull, ROSS members have made frequent raids into Sev3rence system KBP7-G and organized a number of very successful campaigns against pirate corporations and alliances in the Faction War systems. "During times when the Amarr menace is contained we can focus our attention to other pressing security issues," said a ROSS official who made a statement on condition of anonymity. "Some targets of interest will be pirates, Amarr supply lines, incursions into Amarrian High Security systems and establishing hegemony in strategic null security systems," the source said.

Pirate losses this month in these battles with ROSS and friendly Minmatar militia forces is believed to be to the tune of 15 billion ISK while friendly losses have been significantly less making them highly successful operations for militia corporations, ROSS, and especially competition front runners.

Front runners for the faction grand prize in the competition are running neck and neck with Whitehall1212 at 236 kills and The Yzzerman at 235 kills. The two killers have been pulling ahead of each other on a daily basis making for an encompassing race. ROSS members are already putting in wagers on the winners, but its too early and the numbers are too close to tell! The following prizes will be given out to competition winners:

1st Prize: MACHERIAL FACTION BATTLE SHIP

2nd Prize: BATTLESHIP

Merc Forces Defeated in Kourmonen

There is no level low enough to which the Amarr Militia will not sink. After their humiliating defeat in Kamela at the hands of Minmatar militia forces, an underhanded deal to hire two mercenary corporations was signed by two of the most diobolical and corrupt members of the Amarr militia, Nephilim Xeno and Garst Tyrell. A practice which has caused great controversy among the Amarr and divided their militia forces. The facts have been confirmed by central intelligence who monitors all local channels and picked up voice recognition confirmation on the two as they defiantly boasted hiring the mercs to Captain Vaguy, the top killer in the Minmatar militia.

The November 18, 2009 wardecs against ROSS came in unison from both Van Diemen's Demise and Assisted Genocide. After a brief silence there presence was made known as they set up dragnets in multiple systems and engaged coalition forces in the warzone concentrating on the Auga, Dal, Kourmonen, Kamela, Siseide, Amamake, Osoggur, Abudban and Rens star systems.

Shadows Timi, who claimed to be a fleet commander for Assisted Genocide issued a statement, "If they want the wardec cancelled they need to pay us 3 billion ISK and three capital ships." Minmatar militia officials scoffed at the notion. Captain Vaguy released a response to the news service saying, "It looks like you are wanting to cancel the wardecs and move on. When you pay us 100 Billion ISK, we will call a meeting with our directors and consider cancelling the wardec." ROSS has been joined by a number of Minmatar militia corporations in repelling the mercenary forces and in a bold move to support their friends has wardecked the merc corporations back to prevent them from pulling out of the war. Neither Assisted Genocide nor Van Diemen's Demise could be reached for a follow up statement.

On November 24, 2009, Shadows Timi of Assisted Genocide accused Minmatar militia forces of blobbing their forces and not giving them a fair fight. However, in today's news, it seems the shoe was on the other foot as Assisted Genocide engaged coalition forced on the Auga gate in the Kourmonen star system.

According to local scanners who picked up and recoded the engagement, coalition forces had engaged a slightly superior, battlecruiser heavy, Assisted Genocide and Van Diemen's Demise force on the Auga gate in Kourm. The two merc corporations, as well as the Amarr Miliita, have been overtly cooperating in operations against coalition Minmatar militia forces. Mid battle hostile forces had brought in a Breacher, Rifter and Manticore. Each warped out after assessing the battle. Soon to follow was a Jaguar and Enyo. Assited Genocide and Van Diemen's Demise forces outnumberd coalition forces 2-1.

Amon Xeno, a known terrorist sympathizer, was called in by merc forces and warped to the battle in a Scimitar logistics ship to remote repair the hostile fleet. Soon to follow was a battleship heavy fleet of Amarr which tripled the number against coalition forces. Coalition forces disengaged and lost their slepnir pilot on exit who stayed behind to finish off a merc harbinger who was into half armor.

Mercenary forces still have failed to prove themselves against the militia as has the Amarr failed in their plan to disrupt Minmatar militia operations in the warzone. Shadows Timi, fleet commander of Assisted Genocide, was fuming at the losses and denied in Auga public channel that his corporation attempted to 'blob' coalition forces to insure victory, the very thing he accused coalition forces of trying to do.

The military operation was a success for coalition forces who claimed 9 kills and lost only 4 ships. A complete battle report can be viewed at:

The Great Kamela Turkey Shoot!

One lone Minmatar Militia rifter pilot undocks in the Auga star system. He renames his ship "Suicide" with a heavy weight on his mind as he knows that tonight the odds are he will die. Many of his fleet mates feel the same way. They know they will be outnumbered and face much larger ships with greater firepower.

21:00 hours EVE time the diabolical Amarrian fleet converged on the Star Fraction POS in Kamela joined by their Mercs for hire, Caldari militia, Goonswarm and others. Long range sensors had trouble determining the number of ships but local authorities estimate the total number of enemy ships to be greater than 300 battle heavy ships to include mostly battleships with a contingent of cruisers, guardians and interceptors. The system soon plunged into chaos as large fleets of coalition forces jumped into Kamela to engage the enemy fleet. The subspace disturbances wreaked havoc on ship instruments and even many ground installations causing severe lag. At the height of the battle some 425 ships were actively engaged in the star system.

The task ahead is an impossible one. Fleet Commanders instruct their fighter pilots to launch frigate, interceptor and cruiser class vessels. The mission to kill as many small enemy ships as possible and have fun doing it regardless of the outcome.

At 21:30 hours the Minmatar militia launched their fleet and headed for the Kamela star system. An ominous feeling was in the air as entire star systems in the wake of many of their fighters trying to meet up with the main fleet in different star systems reported no ship activity in those systems. The battle of Kamela would happen in Kamela. "We are all gonna die" was heard over militia voice comms which was answered by a deadening silence.

As the Militia fleet arrived at their overview of the Star Fraction POS, Fleet Commanders assessed their strategy. Two sweeps of fighters went towards the outer edge of the massive enemy blob to engage an enemy Cormorant and Tristan, but the subspace distortion from the sheer magnitude of the energy emitted by the active ships in the system prevented ship systems from operating accurately and completely lagged out by 20 seconds and the enemy had responded by warping out.

Minmatar Fleet Commanders issued the order to warp out of the POS blob to a nearby planet to regroup and reassess while coalition forces were engaging the enemy at the POS. Soon after the Militia forces landed on Kamela Planet V an enemy Raven warped in. The Militia quickly engaged the Raven with their frigate and cruiser fleet. Voice comms erupted with shouts "Point, point, point" as the enemy Raven was quickly subdued. Minmatar Fleet Commanders were quick to form a "drag net" strategy and sent pilots to every planet, moon and asteroid belt with instructions to snag all enemy vessels warping out of the POS battle.

The strategy proved to be a valuable asset to the Minmatar militia as they pounded battleship after battleship warping into their star system dragnet. One of the two primary Minmatar Fleet Commanders, who will only be identified as CODE NAME: "Bulldog" for security reasons, was quoted as saying "Our strategy of using smaller, faster ships has given us absolutely fantastic results! At one time we had so many engagements we could not stop flying from planet to planet and killing battleships! We'd just have our point on them and keep them there until we were done killing what the main fleet was working on and then go to the next battle."

The battle raged for just over 2 hours. Reports indicate that Minmatar forces lost 22 frigate class vessels, 1 interceptor, 1 hound, 1 helios and 5 cruiser class by the battle's end. Enemy losses were much greater numbering at over 80 ships, mostly battleships as well as a small contingent of logistics, battlecruiser and cruiser class vessels. Coalition force numbers are not in yet, however after long range scanners returned to normal they indicated that the Star Fraction POS had fallen in the assault.

The battle is a true military victory for Militia forces. The sheer ISK value exacted out of the Amarrian and axis forces was by far greater than the cost of the coalition POS or the 30 frigate class vessels fitted with T1 modules that were lost.

The Minmatar pilot who named his ship "suicide" did not lose his ship though being engaged constantly throughout the battle. A sense of euphoric pride was last seen on his face.

WU TANG comrades!
