February 28, 2010-03-01 - Issued by the ROSS Security Council
In February 2009, the Royal Order of Security Specialists (ROSS) declared its complete independence from it’s mother corporation “The Band of Rebels” (BOR). At the time the Band of Rebels was primarily an Empire Space high security corporation while ROSS was the factional warfare division founded by Big Bilko on behalf of the BOR leadership some time earlier.
Prior to the closing of BOR, a few BOR members partook in operations with it’s faction warfare division (ROSS). Dibblebill, now founder of Beyond Our Sins (PVBOS) corporation, was for a very short time a member of the BOR factional warfare division, ROSS, but left after growing a dislike for some elements of factional war and rejoined the BOR corporation.
BOR member, Lord Shamster, having been new to the game and recently joined the corporation became interested in joining faction warfare but had little knowledge of its workings or PvP and was strongly encouraged by BOR members and leadership to join ROSS to learn and enjoy PvP gameplay. After purchasing Captain Vaguy as a PvP specialized character, he used this character to join ROSS and enter factional warfare.
ROSS was a scarcely known corporation at the time and little concern was given to the corporation.
As BOR began to dismantle itself due to their own reasons and in part due to their dealings in 0.0, ROSS CEO Big Bilko sent a letter to the BOR leadership informing them of the intent to exist as an independent corporation. BOR leadership as well as members who had little or nothing to do with ROSS or factional warfare were sharply divided on the issue. Some were amicable while others were very hostile over the move. In the end, BOR leadership accepted this as their corporation was being dismantled anyhow and peaceful attitudes existed on both sides.
More information on ROSS history, see: http://ross-fw.net/about
BOR was then dismantled of its own volition and reformed into Unauthorized Chaos (UC).
There are still hostile individuals who wish to keep this contention alive though we at ROSS and those at Unauthorized Chaos have long since moved passed these differences and the event.
At the same time that BOR was dismantled and ROSS became independent, Dibblebill, left BOR and founded his own corporation Beyond Our Sins (PVBOS). He kept one of his alts in BOR’s newly formed corporation (UC) but eventually moved it to Beyond Our Sins (PVBOS).
Shortly after ROSS declared its independence, Dibblebill has been an outspoken opponent to the move despite having left ROSS due to his own distaste for faction war and having little to do with the dealings of ROSS.
On at least five occasions ROSS leadership has had to put out fires started by his defamation of the ROSS corporation and playing people against each other, a corporation that he has no interest in and has never posed a threat to him. On one early occasion, when the ROSS Public channel was free for anyone to join, he joined the channel and began to defame ROSS and its leadership in an effort to disrupt operations and cause harm. After being banned from the channel, he created an alt for the sole purpose of continuing to lie, defame and disrupt with the intent to harm the ROSS corporation and its leadership.
After this incident, ROSS leadership held a meeting with former BOR CEO and then CEO of Unauthorized Chaos, their newly reformed corporation, about the matter. It was explained to us that Dibblebill had a sad death in the family and this could be the reason why he was acting out in such a way. ROSS leadership was saddened to hear of this real life tragedy and decided to overlook the matter on the basis of humanitarian reasons.
A few minor incidences stemming from Dibblebill’s untamed rhetoric continued after this but ROSS leadership continued to overlook them and take the higher road. However, after much time has passed, his lies became increasingly embellished (outright made up) and his efforts to defame ROSS in militia chat and elsewhere continued despite himself having created his own corporation and rejoining it to factional warfare and even joining ROSS fleets to assist in fighting the Amarr.
He began to refocus his attention from the initial independence of ROSS instituted by it’s CEO, Big Bilko, and began to defame Captain Vaguy as the sole party responsible for ‘stealing’ ROSS from BOR. He based his ‘intimate’ knowledge on the fact that he was once part of ROSS when Captain Vaguy was new to ROSS, despite the fact that Dibblebill did not enjoy factional warfare during that time, nor was a prominent pilot and left ROSS long before its independence and prior to Captain Vaguy becoming part of ROSS leadership or even becoming a Fleet Commander in the militia.
The latest incident details this information as correct from his own private channel sent to us by one of our allies who copied the chatlog in which he was defaming ROSS and one of the members of it's leadership to a member of Alien Ship Builders (a corporation with mutual blue standings with ROSS).
ROSS leadership has given multiple opportunities for this issue to die over the course of 7 months and for us to move on without reprisal against Dibblebill or his assets and members. Now we have come to the decision that it is our honor and good name of both the ROSS corporation and its leadership at steak and must respond. We therefore have declared war on Beyond Our Sins (PVBOS).
We have chosen NOT to go after their 'soft' targets, ie their sister corporation Blades of EVE.
Word has reached us that Dibblebill has of his own will taken Beyond Our Sins (PVBOS) out of the militia and seek the membership and protection of an alliance as a result of our wardec. It was and is NOT our intention to intimidate him or his corpmates from being in the militia or conducting militia operations. His decision to do this is not our demand and is his own method of dealing with facing a wardec that HE alone is responsible for bringing on his own corporation and membership.
We take no pleasure in wardecking fellow militia corporations and try everything we can to avoid such. However, when we must protect our members, our leadership, our honor, we will not stop at idle words.
Our wardec will end when we feel we have gotten our point across to Beyond Our Sins (PVBOS) leadership (i.e Dibblebill) and they (he) will refrain from defaming our corporation and leadership and begin to refocus on fighting side by side with us in action and in words.
Update
Beyond Our Sins has chosen to wardeck ROSS 'soft' targets in our sister corporation despite our good faith gesture not to wardec theirs. Our policy regarding refraining from wardecking their soft targets in Blades of EVE may change bending a Security Council review.
